Mystery Trip to Jekyll Island

Taking Buttercup to Silke's.  AJ has no clue where we are going.

Looking through the aquarium.

Could not get a good picture as many people in front of me.
Behind the sign vets are tagging a diamond back.

Sea Turtle Center had a lot of interactive displays.
Sea Turtle Skeleton
Specimens

Older turtle in rehabilitation.

Baby, size of palm.

Sea Turtle Hospital

Each turtle has their own info sheet so guests can read about
where they were found, injuries, recovery, etc...

Sea Turtle Feeding

Watch out AJ - a pre-historic creature is going to eat you!

Taking a break on the pier.

Checking in.

A lot of trees to climb on the island.

Driftwood Beach!

On the boat, waiting for the dolphin tour to begin.

We saw  A LOT of dolphins.

It was a sunset tour.
I can't take credit for this image - I stole it from the FB page.
However, this is what it looked like when we pulled into the dock.

Hanging on the porch.

Tidelands Nature Center

Whales mate at certain times of year off the coast of Jekyll and North Florida.

Evening stroll.

We took some time to visit ruins and learn about the history of the island.
AJ found the ruins on the map and led us there.

Horton came over from England to settle the island.
